# The Pantheon asanetargossThese are versions of the Notch-Steve-Herobrine pantheon from a select number of factions in the HcA/BoD universe. This is supplementary lore and can be read in any order. - [The Pantheon (Central Minecraftia)](./central.html) - New Farlands Pantheon (Farlands) - stay tuned! - Tales of the Prophets (Elora) - stay tuned! - The Pantheon (Zalthor) - stay tuned! - The Minecraftian Pantheon (N10K) - stay tuned!Read this first! It contains background and important disclaimers
**A few disclaimers first:** - NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT - These are fictional works which, at times, contain parody representations of real people or communities. This is not uncommon in Minecraft fiction, however please keep in mind that the representations of the people and communities are not meant to be accurate. - These fictional works may contain references to politics/bigotry that are a bit more IRL-relevant than is found in The Book of Dreams. These are meant to represent the politics of the factions in the universe, and do not necessarily reflect my own opinions. - There is going to be a lot of repetition between the different versions of the pantheon - you have been warned! Because of this repetition, I'm hesitant to upload it to other sites as it may be perceived as spam. - I will be updating these pages occassionally, and might not post about it elsewhere, because I don't want to spoil what is repetition and what isn't, so if you want to check for updates, feel free to bookmark the page. **My motivation for making this:** This is a new project I am working on to document the "Notch-Steve-Herobrine Pantheon" for The Book of Dreams/Hardcore Alchemy universe. It is not the *only* pantheon in that universe, but it is the most well-known one. Because it exists across many cultures in that universe, it's a way to understand the primary "factions" of that universe and how they fit together. The intent was to initially write about the Farlands and/or Minecraftian version of the pantheon in The Book of Dreams as a natural part of the story, however as the story progressed, I realized that I would have to cut a lot of stuff out to keep the story moving along, and that included details of the pantheon. This supplementary material does not (in my opinion) contain major spoilers for The Book of Dreams, so feel free to read them in either order (although it should be noted that, at the time of writing, The Book of Dreams is currently unfinished). At this time, there are no plans to implement this pantheon in the Hardcore Alchemy modpack (mainly for game design reasons). Currently, there are minor references to the same universe in the latest guidebook. So, for the most part, the versions of the pantheon related to Hardcore Alchemy exist mainly for "flavor", and exist as an extension of the vanilla origin story to modded Minecraft. My short story, Alchemical Darkness, also takes place in this universe! **A bit of background about the BoD/HcA universe:** 1. The world is not "faithful" to Minecraft and never has been. It was always my intent for The Book of Dreams to be a "what if" scenario for a magic mod, and for it to feel more like people in an actual world rather than people playing a game. 2. The known world is about three times wider in the East-West direction than a typical "infinite" Minecraft world. This allows for three main world regions in the current lore: Minecraftia (associated with miners), the Farlands (associated with villagers), and the Veil (associated with modded Minecraft). The Zalthorans and Farlanders stick mainly to their homelands, and the Minecraftians (which contain many sub-factions) can be found just about everywhere. 3. The world's technological history is chronologically ordered according to Java Minecraft updates. So, for example: because redstone was released in an earlier update than lapis lazuli, it exists earlier in the BoD/HcA universe. Furthermore, a year in real life generally corresponds to thousands of years in the BoD/HcA universe. I reserve lots of creative liberties for the durations between events, and if two mechanics are released in the same update, I can reorder them and add time gaps between them. Some game features may also be foreshadowed, and that foreshadowing may be retconned. 4. The gods in the Notch-Steve-Herobrine pantheon are based on a combination of real-life people, fictional characters, and default Java edition player skins. This means that all the new default Java skins added in 2022 (Efe, Noor, etc) are canon gods in the universe - I haven't decided what to do with them yet! Enjoy the lore!
